The M&S website has crashed this afternoon and customers are being met with an error message as the firm’s app and online shop appear to have encountered technical issues.

At the moment, people are greeted by a photo of a woman wearing a green blazer, top and earrings accompanied by a message that reads: “Please bear with us. Sorry you can’t shop with us right now.

“We’re working hard to be back online as soon as possible.”

@NewForestDog joked on X, posting a screenshot of the crashed website: “This is not just any crashed website. This is a Marks and Spencer crashed website.”

@goh_zhanghe said: “Hello @marksandspencer I think your sparks system on your app is down”. The company replied: “We’re experiencing some technical issues today and we are working on it. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

@LorryLocket posted: “Hi your app doesn’t seem to be working it doesn’t allow you to add items to bag”. @LizSuperkoomba said: “Is your app not working at the moment?”

In response, the store has said on X (formerly Twitter): “We are experiencing some issues with the app at the moment but please do try again later as our team is working to get this fixed asap”
