One happy shopper said: “I didn’t expect to rave about something but this shaver is terrific. It’s wonderful to get such a close shave in such a short time. Even areas such as under nose and between lips and chin are a doddle. The LED lights tell how hard or not to shave so you don’t have to guess and you can apply the right pressure knowing you will get a perfect shave.”
Another said: “Quality product and best shaver ever.” A third remarked: “I have used Philips shavers all my life so can’t compare with other makes. However, this is the best that I have used. Produces a lovely close shave and battery is long lasting. Cleaning pod is really good but supplied fluid is expensive to replenish. Shall use pod once a week and clean dry the other times. Pressure guide is a new addition which is illuminating.”

A less pleased shopper wrote: “Still not as close as Wet Shave.” Another said: “I was disappointed by this very expensive shaver. Whilst it’s easy to clean I find the build quality doesn’t match the price. It’s so lightweight and the feel in hands feels that of something much cheaper. The pressure guard is good with soo ability but I’m not sure this provides the price tag. I have seen many others much cheaper that seem better than this device. The shave is fine but isn’t anything I would pay over the odds to get. So I wouldn’t recommend this device.”
The Braun Series 5 Electric Shaver is currently £68.99, down from £139.99. This is cheaper than Superdrug, who are selling it for £129.99 and is a pound cheaper than Boots (£69.99) and Argos (£70). However, if you want the beard trimmer attachment, it comes to £84.99 (down from £169.99).
The waterproof electric razor is designed for wet and dry use, so you can use it while you get ready. There’s a precision trimmer for your moustache and sideburns. The battery has a charge of 50 minutes, which is about three weeks of shaving.
