Viewers have long been huge (read: HUGE) fans of Polin (that’s Penelope and Colin, FYI!), keenly waiting for the pair to have their romantic moment in the spotlight. Now, that is exactly what is about to happen in season three.
Nicola Coughlan confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, “Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time… but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story ❤️.”
Speaking about the update, Nicola told Netflix’s Tudum site, “I feel like if you see Penelope fawning over this boy for another season, you’ll be like, ‘Get it together! Come on, move on and get over it.’

As for other plot updates, Kate and Anthony are officially coming back! Simone Ashley, who plays Kate, has spoken out about what we can expect from the couple in series three, and there’s plenty more romance to come.
The actress told Deadline, “We’re going to be back! Kate and Anthony are just getting started. In season two, there was a lot of push and pull between Kate and Anthony, there were complications with the family, and then they find each other towards the end.
“I think everything is just starting. I’d like to see Kate just let go a bit more and play more in season three and kind of swim in that circle of love together. I think they both deserve it,” she continued.
“I’m just excited for her to have a home and to have a family. I’m excited to see her grow. I think I’d like to see Kate being much braver and less headstrong and more heart strong.” Exciting!
As well as teasing all the Polin content, Simone also revealed that the show is about to get “super steamy”. “I think [it’s] condensation central. It’s gonna get super steamy,” she told E! News.
New season three cast member, Hannah Dodd who will play Francesca Bridgerton, also said we can expect “steaminess” from future Bridgerton episodes.
