Two people facing out towards a crowd of party goers at the Natural History Museum New Year's Eve party

I know that it feels like only yesterday that we were donning our sparkliest outfits, belting out Auld Lang Syne and dramatically exclaiming ‘I can’t believe that it’s 2025 already’. But the fact of the matter is that we’re hurtling towards 2026 at a rather alarming rate, and – like it or not – it’s time to get those New Year’s Eve plans in the diary, folks.

Now, it’s understandable that you may have not yet decided on where you fancy ringing in the new year. I mean it was only July five minutes ago, right? But if you are on the lookout for a little bit of inspiration, listen up. London’s legendary Natural History Museum have just announced that they are, once again, throwing the ultimate New Year’s Eve party. And everybody is invited.

New Year’s Eve at the Natural History Museum

On December 31once the museum has closed its doors to the public for the final time of the year, party-goers can head inside for a night at the museum that they’ll never forget. Guests can disco-dance with the dinosaursexplore the museum’s fascinating galleries after hours, take a peek at the world-renowned ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ exhibition, or – quite literally – reach for the moon inside the new exhibition, Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth?.

Live music will be playing, drinks will be flowing, and the guest list will be thriving. Sophie the Stegosaurus and Hope the humongous blue whale will, of course, both be attending the prehistoric party. And ethical animal handlers, ZooLabwill also be there to introduce guests to some of their fabulous creatures.

Once guests have explored every nook and cranny of the museum, it’ll be time to have a good old boogie inside the gorgeous Earth Hall. Attendees will be kitted out with wireless headsets, where they can switch between three battling DJ channelsand (silently) throw some shapes into the early hours of the morning at one of the museum’s iconic silent discos.

So, look forward to the year ahead whilst being surrounded by the incredibly history from years gone by. And revel in the fact that no matter your age; you’re guaranteed to be one of the youngest creatures in attendance.
