Down in South London, a community pub is brewing up a limited-time opening to raise awareness of men’s wellbeing. They’ve temporarily changed up their identity for a few weeks to become a men’s health pub. This means that, for the first time ever, going to the pub can be said to be good for your health. After all, it’s in the name!
Crystal Palace’s Westow House Pub & Hotel is transforming into The Brothers’ Arms from February 19 – March 7, 2025. Across the two (and a bit) weeks, they’re hosting special events and talks across subjects related to men’s health. These events highlight the power of a pub in a local community and give men the tools and knowledge to pay more attention to their health.
Events at the men’s health pub
The events include “The Big Flow – a men’s health pub quiz,” documentary screenings, and talks from medical professionals. You can even grab a Sunday lunch while learning about “heart disease and men’s cardiovascular health”.

Importantly, the events are open to all, providing a “welcoming space for all attendees – not just men.” And as an added bonus, the events are all free!
But, why are they even opening a men’s health pub? In the words of Androlabsthe team behind the activation:
“We need men. We all do. We need our mates, brothers, uncles, dads and granddads. Sadly, almost 2 in 5 men die early in the UK and often for health reasons that can be prevented.
“We’re on a mission to change this. So we’ve opened The Brothers’ Arms – Britain’s first men’s health pub, dedicated fully to the wellbeing of men in our communities.”
Androlabs describes themselves as “the first global pharmaceutical company dedicated to men’s health.” They’re on a mission “to close the male life expectancy gap.”
