Elisa Lam’s body was found in a water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles, which is now known as the Stay on Main. Right now, no one knows who (or what?) killed Elisa Lam. She was discovered on February 19, 2013, 19 days after her parents reported her missing, although the cause of death was unknown based on the results of the autopsy. Only because of complaints from visitors about low water pressure and blockages did they ever learn about the body.
However, there is a small video of her inside the hotel during her last hours that was recorded by a security guard CCTV camera in one of the elevators, which only adds to the eeriness of the situation. She was shown in the video making strange, almost inhuman gestures to no one in particular, or at least no one that could be seen.
The video is undoubtedly quite disturbing, and it has undoubtedly led to a number of conspiracy theories about ghosts since then, but there are some explanations here. According to the autopsy, Elisa had taken a significant amount of bipolar medication that evening, which may have contributed to her actions. That still leaves us in the dark about who killed her, how she passed away, or even how her body ended up in the tank.
