The Wildhive Collection has acquired Eshott Hall, a 17th-century manor house in Northumberland, its second property following the launch of Wildhive Callow Hall in Derbyshire, which opens in September 2021.
Purchased from The Robert Parker Collection, Eshott Hall will continue to operate as normal until the end of 2025, when it will transform into the Wildhive Hotel. The plans include a complete renovation of the main building and the development of experience accommodation opportunities in nature such as the Wildhive Callow Hall.
Eshott Hall’s central location between Alnwick and Morpeth makes it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coastline, including the stunning Northumberland Coastal Path, the wildlife-rich Farne Islands and the magnificent Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles.
The past few years have been exciting times for the destination, with the North East of England selected as the first Destination Development Partnership pilot in England and receiving £2.25m of government funding to boost the tourist economy.
Ed Burrows DL, co-founder of The Wildhive Collection, said: “We’ve spent a long time looking for our second site and wanted somewhere that fits our long-term vision for The Wildhive Collection, and we’re really excited about the potential of Eshott Hall. .
“The hotel already has a strong team which we look forward to nurturing and we are excited to be working with the brilliant team at Visit North East England to bring more people to this fantastic part of the country.”
The Wildhive Collection was founded by Ed Burrows and Charles Randall who set out to create a distinctive and charming collection of houses offering experiential accommodation in lesser known areas of the UK. The central values in Wildhive’s philosophy are locality, community and commitment to sustainable development and restorative practices, focusing on the benefit of both the planet and its people.
Co-founder Charles Randall added: “We are very excited to announce our second acquisition in the stunning county of Northumberland. This move is in line with our long-term strategy and corporate vision to deliver unique guest experiences at destinations that celebrate heritage, culture and natural beauty, and we look forward to welcoming guests warmly to Wildhive .
