This November, the team behind Angelina Dalston hosted by a British Seafood Pop-Up in collaboration with Flying Fish Seafoods.
Take to the water on a docked canal boat in London’s Paddington, Angelina on the water offers a Tasting Menu showcasing the finest British seafood in dishes inspired by Japanese and Italian cuisines.
Angelina Dalston is a beloved East London restaurant known for its creative tasting menus. Angelina has teamed up with their fish supplier and friends at Flying Fish Seafoods who have been proudly supplying the best Cornish seafood to chefs across the UK since 2006.
Guests of Angelina Sull’Acqua can enjoy a nine-course tasting menu created by Angelina Sull’Acqua founder Joshua Owens-Baigler and head chef Usman Haider. The menu celebrates the incredible seafood found in British waters, including Cornish Sardines, monkfish, scallops, crab and lobster. The team is particularly excited about the introduction of Flying Fish Resistant British tuna after it reappeared in Cornish waters.
“We have been following the return of British Blue Fin Tuna and are now very pleased to have a sustainable and locally sourced tuna alternative. For many years as a Japanese-style restaurant, most of the fish we relied on came from miles away, and especially sashimi quality was hard to come by locally. Flying Fish has always pioneered the delivery of excellent fish and seafood sourced from the British Isles, and where better to showcase all that British seafood can offer than on board one of the most beautiful stretches of the Regen’ts Canal. We can’t wait!” Josh Owens-Baigler
Provenance is at the heart of the menu and every dish on the menu has the name of the day’s boat and the fisherman who caught the fish. Japanese and Italian inspirations coexist in fish-centric dishes that range from sashimi and karaage to ravioli and focaccia.
The menu includes:
Diver scallop Sashimi, fodder truffle and truffle sauce
Focaccia, squid sausage, tuna, nduja and pickles
Puntarelle alla Romana, Cornish sardines.
Milk buns, tuna tartare and Colonata lard
Sweetbread Karaage, Blue Fin Otoro, A5 Kagoshima Wagyu beef and black truffle
Crab & Mascarpone Raviolo, soy-dried egg yolk and Lobster Bisque butter.
Cornish Monkfish, Uni Butter and Keta Caviar
Miyagawa Sorbet & Candied Nori
Parmesan panna cotta aged for 36 months, pressed Nashi pear & caviar
An optional wine pairing showcases the best of Italy’s indigenous varietals, including an aperitif of Angelina’s signature sparkling wine.
