Anonymous Season 1 created an incredible dynamic between the contestants who consistently moved between Anonymous and Real-Life, including Victoria Vesce and Lilly Jenkins. Although the series officially crowned Nina Twine, the daughter Survivors Legend Sandra Diaz-Twine, the winner of the competition, Victoria and Lilly were part of her inner circle throughout the game and made it to the final six. Victoria, Lilly and Nina were joined by Andy King, Marcel Cunningham and Christopher Shulstead at the end, but the endgame didn’t go quite as the ladies planned.
Created by production team Studio Lambert, Anonymous mixed up the deception Traitors with anonymity Circle, a whole new competition series is created. Although each player wanted to remain as anonymous as possible, players had to alternate between real life and anonymous mode to create a persona that would become their identity in the anonymous side of the game. When players interacted with each other face-to-face during the day, they would go to the domain to discuss gameplay under the guise of their handles, hoping to keep their true identities a secret.
Although it was a difficult endeavor, Victoria and Lilly did their best to go through the game and remain as anonymous as possible. They formed alliances when they were in person, and they hoped to carry through the anonymous side of the game. Strategic, prepared and resourceful, the women worked hard to get through the game unnoticed. Although they couldn’t take home the ultimate prize, Victoria and Lilly discussed their time in the online space and what they’ve been thinking about after Anonymous.
: Nice to meet you both! After watching the season, a big congratulations to you both for making it this far in the game – the competition was fierce and you both really put in a huge effort. I’m curious what drew you to Anonymous?
Victoria Vesce: I actually had a friend, Kat Dunn
Big brother
(in the casting team). I was in Jamaica creating travel content and he hit me up and asked if I’d be interested in acting in a new show. She’s my girl so I was like
“you know what? Sure.”
One thing led to another and I ended up in the domain. It was a wild, crazy fast casting process for me – I wasn’t looking for it, but
Anonymous
found meLilly Jenkins: I’ve always loved reality TV and grew up watching it, and I’ve always wanted to see a show and be a part of it. Any sort of romantic, lovey dovey type of show is off the table for me because I’m a happily married person, so I wanted to find some social strategy competition and I did. One thing led to another and I ended up in the domain.
: It’s so exciting. There was duality in this game when you had to switch back and forth. Did you feel like switching between Anonymous mode and Real Life mode got easier or harder as the game progressed?
Victoria Vesce: I think it was more difficult for me. At first I was like I don’t know any of these Adam people, I don’t care if I lie to them. Then as you go on, you start building these really deep connections. You won’t see everything in a one-hour episode of the show. Lilly and I connected a lot, Dillian (Frelow) and I connected deeply, so we all had deeper connections than the surface level you see on TV. As I got to know who everyone was, it got harder and harder and harder, it really took a toll on me.
Lilly Jenkins: I think it got easier as the game progressed, at least for me. In the beginning it is very mentally heavy and difficult every time you hear
hear
especially if someone is talking about your handle. It’s almost like someone is calling your name and you can’t look. That part was really hard. Switching back and forth was also hard at first, and also being anonymous and feeling like you’re a bad person. You feel so guilty when you talk so much crap about someone and then you go see them in real life and act like you didn’t say all that. It was really taxing mentally, but as the game goes on you see that everyone is doing it and you just have to do what you have to do to survive.
: It looks tough, really. Speaking of tough stuff, what was your best move in the game?
Victoria Vesce: For me, eliminating Jack (Usher) – that was a tough decision, I remember sitting there staring at the DANI screen and thinking… can I get this baller going? I had gotten to know Jack and was starting to feel like he was a friend outside of the game, but I was like… You know what? You have no friends
Anonymous.
You may have friends in the real world, but not in the domain. So I was like, okay. This Victoria has to come out and make this move.Lilly Jenkins: It was brilliant. I think the best move of the game was lining up with one of the strong women in the game – so Victoria, Bismah (Ahmed), Nina (Twine), I felt like we had a really good pack going for a while. . I trusted them because when they got power they kept me in place. That, and I think my other handle in the game, which was Robot, was crucial for me, it really gave me confidence. So kind of being an alter-ego villain in an anonymous space was a game changer for me.
: Victoria, I’d be remiss if I didn’t ask about your relationship with Christopher (Shulstad) – we saw you hook up in the game. Do you feel like it helped your game get to the show?
Victoria Vesce: I mean, I’m not going to lie—it helped my game. Two is better than one in the game to get as far as you can in the game. Two is better than one, so that helped me with that. I think it hurt my game as well because everyone thought we were going to do sign language to each other. I want to know who started that rumor – because Christopher doesn’t know any sign language about a rock. So I thought that was a hindrance for me being a new player, but it was also an advantage as a new player. In the end, I knew it was becoming a nuisance – I knew the show was my break because they cast Christopher over me because he was the OG.
: Where are you with Christopher now?
Victoria Vesce: Well, there’s no such thing as Vistopher anymore, there’s only Victoria now. I’m my own woman living my best life in South Florida doing my thing. As Christopher’s favorite line goes,
“things are not always what they seem in the industry”
well, things are not always what they seem in the real world outside the domain.

: We love independence.
Victoria Vesce: Yes! We love independence and we love boss asses like me and Lilly and our girl Nina.
: Amazing – last question for you two, could you do one thing differently during your work hours Anonymous, what would that be?
Victoria Vesce: I’ve got you here – no fools. No more shows, no more romances for Victoria. Especially if it’s a competition show, it doesn’t matter how far we go in the world as women, it’s always going to be women. It’s such an unfortunate thing. So, no more introductions, let’s just go solo or die in my next show.
Lilly Jenkins: For myself, after Victoria, I would have renamed my third handle Rainbow. I think I really, really started (drop after that). Robot was my peak and then I went down hill after that. I was just really weirded out by it at the end, I can’t even find the words to describe it clearly.
Victoria Vesce: I feel like in the end we were all really exhausted. It was really about who had the most energy, not us.
Lilly Jenkins: I should have had an espresso and got going.
