People are skipping entire meals and replacing them with questionable choices — like a bag of chips — according to new research. A survey of 2,000 British adults commissioned by Arla Protein found that whole meals are replaced with a plain jacket potato or a boiled egg.
People also admit to replacing meals with a can of tuna, leftover pizza or dry bread. The research coincides with the launch of Arla Protein’s new Food to Go range of nutritionally balanced meal replacement protein drinks.
Danny Micklethwaite, marketing director at Arla Protein, said: “Let’s face it, lunch on the go is something that busy people have simply endured. Whether it’s a can of cold tuna over the sink or a dry baguette eaten in the car, we have all made some questionable lunchtime choices… that tend to lack both essential nutrition and flavor and are often so unsatisfying that we wonder why we even bothered.
Danny added: “Obviously there are plenty of quick and easy options to grab during the day, but many of the choices are unsatisfying and offer no nutritional value.”
