Liberty London has once again transformed its fourth floor into a festive wonderland, despite Christmas being more than 100 days away. Every year, the luxury department store puts on an extravagant Christmas display, and I decided to visit it to escape from the dreariness of this summer.

Liberty is housed in a stunning Tudor-revival building in central London, and is known for its high-end fashion, luxury homeware, and own fabric line. Stepping inside, I was immediately hit by the medley of perfume scents from the beauty section as I made my way upstairs.

After climbing four floors of their famous wooden staircase, I spotted the Christmas shop at the end of the hall. The space was filled with everything you need for the jolly holiday, from glittering baubles and tree toppers to stockings and gift wrap.

The shop’s décor is nothing short of magical. Fairy lights twinkle above Christmas trees, polar bears, and nutcrackers, while the products are displayed inside wooden cabins decorated with mistletoe.

I absolutely loved to observe the dizzying array of baubles and tree decorations. You can find everything: The Jungle Book characters, a turtle, a pinata, coffee cups, and even portraits of the Royal Family.

Prices start at a reasonable £5.95, but most of the baubles hover around £8.95. The most expensive are the Royal Family decorations, featuring Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and King Charles and Queen Camilla, priced at £29.95 each!

Liberty has a wide array of luxury baubles, from cult collectables to a Royal London range

It’s no surprise that Liberty’s Christmas shop comes with a hefty price tag, given its reputation for luxury. Some items, like the collectible nutcracker ornaments, are priced over £200 – beautiful, but perhaps best admired from afar for me.

In addition to decorations, the shop offers an extensive range of Christmas essentials. Gift wrap, stockings starting at £16.95, and wreaths from £46.95 are all available, as well as more unique items like festive headbands and even sunglasses for those looking to bring a quirky twist to their celebrations.

One of Liberty’s standout offerings is its own range of baubles and decorations, along with their signature chocolate advent calendar priced at £34.95. However, with more than two months to go until December, I’d recommend waiting a bit to buy the advent calendar, unless you want the chocolate to melt before the holidays.

Most baubles are priced at £8.95

Despite the early opening, I was surprised to see how many people were already shopping for Christmas. Shoppers were filling their baskets with ornaments, perhaps eager to escape the gloomy September weather and embrace the festive cheer.

If you’re looking to get a head start on Christmas or simply want to brighten up your day, a visit to Liberty’s Christmas shop will certainly lift your spirits. I will certainly go back, even if it’s just to look at each unique bauble!

You can buy the baubles shaped like sewing machines, yarn with knitting needles, cameras, motorcycles, pianos, espresso martinis, or shop their entire collection here or at Regent Street, London W1B 5AH.
