If you’re planning a weekend road trip, bp has launched a new offer to help you save on your journey. This Monday (September 9) marks the fifth annual World EV Day, dubbed the ‘biggest’ emobility campaign of the year.

In celebration of this event, bp is offering electric vehicle (EV) owners a discount on charging for three days. EV owners can now enjoy a 15 per cent saving on EV charging with bp throughout the entire weekend at participating rapid and ultra-fast chargers.

While bp has long been a popular choice for drivers needing petrol and diesel, the company has already started transitioning to electric by adding more than 3,000 rapid and ultra-fast charging points. This special promotion offers drivers a significant discount for three days, from September 7-9, giving UK customers 15 per cent off pay as you go EV charging via the free bp pulse app.

The discount is available to anyone who has downloaded the app, registered and added a minimum of £5 credit to start a charge using pay as you go on rapid and ultrafast chargers. The offer can be claimed when making a payment via the bp pulse app, which you can download here on the App Store or Google Play, and is valid until 11.59pm on September 9 on rapid and ultra-fast chargers.

The bp pulse app is a handy tool for EV drivers, allowing them to locate the nearest charging points across the UK and get directions from their current location using a live map. Users can also customise a map of their favourite chargers, filter by connector type and charging speed, and manage their charging with up to 90 days’ history and downloadable invoices, reports the Mirror.

There’s an offer on the table that lets EV owners pay 15 per cent less than standard pay-as-you-go rates when using the bp pulse owned network, but you’ll need to make your payment via the bp pulse app. However, this deal isn’t available on non-participating chargers.

Do note that rates and average subscriber savings are subject to change, and they vary across the bp pulse network. You can find the full terms and conditions at bp here, along with bp pricing and offers.

If you’re in need of extra storage while travelling, Halfords is offering up to 30 percent off a range of roof boxes, including a whopping £130 off the Hapro Trivor Black 560, now priced at £470. Plus, there’s 20 percent off car cleaning products, with £10.50 off the Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit, now just £24.49.
