A local high school has created an environment where young girls can thrive academically, socially and personally.
Norbury High School for Girls aims to be more than just an educational institution, but an environment where students can reach their full potential in all areas of life.
Part of The Manor Trust, the secondary school for girls aged 11-19 has developed a unique approach which ensures its pupils have the knowledge, support and opportunities to succeed.
With these at the center of their education, students at Norbury High School for Girls learn more than just facts, figures and information, but also the qualities they need to become well-rounded adults.
To reach one’s full potential
By focusing on empowerment and empathy, students are encouraged to understand and appreciate not only the perspectives and abilities of others, but also their own.
This confidence is only strengthened by the skills developed as one learns to embrace challenges in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. An integral part of personal development, students can develop a sense of motivation and determination that can be used throughout life.
By giving every student at the school the same equal opportunities and being valued for their own talents, the students can see that equality should be a part of daily life.
Headteacher Mrs Hayden said: “The opportunities we offer encourage pupils to develop a strong sense of self-worth. We want them to become well-rounded young women who see themselves as responsible global citizens.
“Our curriculum is progressive and we have a reputation for providing a genuinely comprehensive education in an environment that is caring, happy, safe and inclusive. Faiths, beliefs and traditions are respected here, and we work hard to establish positive collaborative partnerships with our students’ families.”
