The Guru Nanak Sikh Multi Academy Trust has celebrated an extraordinary 12 months of success in the academic year 2023-24.
At the heart of the Trust is the Guru Nanak Sikh Academy in Hayes, which has been serving the West London community since 1993.
The academy has become synonymous with academic excellence and value-driven education.
The school’s vision, inspired by its founder, Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji, focuses on developing students as academic achievers and individuals committed to serving humanity and contributing to the world.
“Incredible Success”
Arun Thakur, Chairman of the Board, extended hearty congratulations to the entire GNSA community.
He said: “The incredible success this year is testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff.
“Their relentless efforts, along with the determination of our students, have produced outstanding results.”
“Our students have not only excelled academically but have also embraced the values of compassion and service.
“Together we are shaping future leaders who will have a positive impact on the world.”
Key results for stage 2
At Key Stage 2, 93% of pupils achieved the expected standard in maths and 90% in reading, well above the national average.
Teachers’ commitment to providing tailored support has been instrumental in helping students to exceed expectations.
This is particularly true in English and maths, where 78% of pupils met or exceeded the expected standards in reading, writing and maths combined.
GCSE results
At GCSE level, 75% of entries achieved grade 4 or above and 64% achieved grade 5 or above, consistently above the national average.
These results are a credit to all students, with 79% achieving grade 4 or above in both English and maths.
Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Combined Science and English all performed well above the national average at both GCSE and A level.
A-level results
At A-level, 98% of submissions achieved passes, with 70% of all A-level results graded A* to C.
This ensured that many students gained admission to their first-choice universities, including top institutions across the country.
These results are a testament to the students’ hard work and the high-quality teaching and guidance they receive.
Department of “Outstanding” Religious Studies
The Department of Religious Studies also recently underwent an inspection and was rated ‘Outstanding’ at its most recent Ofsted inspection in 2023.
Inspectors praised the department for its ability to engage students in deep, reflective discussions about religious, moral and ethical issues.
This success is in line with the school’s ethos of promoting SHARE values alongside academic achievement, ensuring students develop critical thinking and empathy.
