A pod of pelicans (10 points if you knew that was one of the (debated) collective noun for pelicans without looking it up before) are now on a London wall as part of Banksy’s series of animal artworks that have been popping up around the city this week.
Apparently, when the pelicans are fishing their collective term, however, becomes a fleet. So given the fact they’re tucking into dinner on top of Bonners Fish Bar in Walthamstow.

They appeared overnight at the East London spot, with one pelican standing with a fish dropping into its mouth and the second swiping one off the shopfront by cleverly using the fish on the sign. They are drawn in the same style as Banksy’s goat, elephants, monkeys, and howling wolf that have all appeared across London one day at a time this week.
The elusive Bristol-based artist has now posted all of the animals on Instagram to claim them. As with each post of his animalistic creations, Bansky has not left any caption on his post of the pelicans today, which will leave any meaning up for debate in the comment section. It also comes one day after his howling wold artwork in Peckham appeared to be stolen by a group of masked men, with video footage showing them appear to take the satellite dish it was painted on just hours after it arrived.
Will Banksy continue his circle-of-life streak into the weekend? Time will tell.
You can see the fifth Banksy artwork at Bonners Fish Bar in Walthamstow on Pretoria Avenue.
