Below Deck Season 11’s Ben Willoughby Is Out of Control (He Doesn’t Know What He Wants)
Below Deck Season 11’s Ben Willoughby has faced tensions throughout his time at St. David’s, but in the latest episode, he’s been flying off the handle.
8 Ben Was rude to Jared in the beginning
He didn’t believe in Jared as Bosun
Ben started Below decks season 11 Deckhanna under Jared and it was clear that they didn’t get along too well. Ben felt like Jared dropped the ball as Bosun of St. David’s. He believed that his Bosu kept making stupid mistakes and was not good at his job. Ben said Us Weekly that there was a kind of “competition” going on between her and Jared. “I think Jared kind of took it because he could have used me,” she added. She felt like Jared wasn’t working with her, which upset Ben.
“I did as much as I could to bite my tongue, but I was very ready to walk away from the boat because I knew we were destined to fail.”
Captain Kerry dismissed Jared, and Ben was named in his place. Before going in Below decks season 11, Ben felt “take a step down” in the role of leader, unlike Bosu. He thought Captain Kerry would have asked him to be the Bosun because of his experience on and off the show, while in the latter he worked as a Bosun. Ben could have carried these feelings into his working relationship with Jared. Their relationship was doomed from the start.
7 Ben downplays Sunny’s feelings for him
Has Ben ever known Sunny?
Sunny may have liked Ben more than him, always downplaying her feelings for him. Sunny shocked when she flirted with other members of the St. David’s crew. She tried to express this to him, but he continued his behavior. After the revelation, he still has feelings for her Below decks season 10 avenger Camille Lamb, Sunny was upset. Ben reduced their ship journey to occasional contact. On Below deckshe told Sunny that they were not “attached to each other,” reducing his feelings for her.
“If we sleep together, we sleep together. If we don’t, we don’t.
Sunny took Ben’s words hard. She turned to her friends Paris Fields and Barbie Pascual when she felt bad about the situation. What Ben said to her apparently came to her mind and she said,There’s always something wrong” in his relations. Sunny had a hard time telling the differencework and play“ On St. David’s on his boat with Ben.
6 Ben openly flirted with Paris in front of the sunny
Sunny was not okay with Paris flirting with Ben
Paris entered Below decks season 11 to replace Cat Baugh after she decided to leave for personal reasons. Once he boarded St. David’s, it didn’t take long for Ben’s flirtatious nature to be revealed. In one moment he was talking to Paris about Barbie and put his hand on her leg. She pushed his hand away, looking quite uncomfortable. Naturally, this confused Sunny, who he was on the boat with. Sunny said in his confessions:I don’t think he should touch other people. I feel uncomfortable to be honest.”
5 Ben called Camille with Sunny
Being on St. David’s reminded Ben of his boating with Camille Below decks season 10. She acknowledged this in a confessional interview, admitting that they were like “children in love.“Ben was not over Camille and started posting pictures of them on social media. Per Us WeeklyBen did a Q&A on Instagram where he was asked if their relationship was done and he said: “I wouldn’t say so.“Once Sunny found out about Ben’s lingering feelings for Camillehe was injured.
Sunny confided in Paris and Barbie after learning about Ben’s feelings for Camille. Sunny said she knew she and Ben were “just sleeping together“, but the situation was still “Really hard” for him. When Ben found out that Sunny was upset, he got angry. “We’re not even dating. What’s bugging you girls?” he said. Ben decided it was time to stop boating with Sunny, and shortly after that he called Camille. He said in his confessional he did not have “spark“With Sunny like he did with Camille.
“You can’t force anything, there has to be a spark. Like last year with Camille. That’s the magic I’m looking for.”
Ben called Camille Below decks season 11 and told him that he would like to see her after the season ends. He was shocked, and he said, “Oh, I don’t know. I mean I just arrived in the city two months ago.“After the call, Ben said he felt like “fucking loser” knowing that his relationship with Camille was over. He hadn’t even completely finished his boat ride with Sunny, however, Ben is still chasing Camille.
4 Ben Involved in Drama
He always seems to get involved in everyone else’s conflicts
Ben is a notorious troublemaker. At the beginning of Below decks season 11, he exacerbated the internal conflict. She told Barbie that Cat complained about her to Chief Stew Fraser Olender. Ben overheard Cat confiding in Fraser, which greatly upset the main stew. Fraser asked him not to get involved in the internal drama as he had in the past. Despite wanting to turn over a new leaf Below decks season 11, Ben can’t stay out of the drama.
3 Ben doesn’t treat Sunny with respect
Does Ben value her less than Camille?
The Below decks season 11 Bosun doesn’t treat Sunny with respect. When the season started, Ben said he wasn’t going to be in a different boat like last season. However, he joined his colleague almost immediately. Ben made things complicated in their relationship when he started flirting with Paris. Sunny told him that he hurt her feelings and she continued to flirt with their other crew memberXandi Olivier.
When Sunny was talking to Ben, she should have given him respect and stopped flirting with the other St. David ladies. Or he should have stopped their boating altogether. He can’t have his cake and eat it too. Ben made things even more complicated with Sunny when he decided to call Camille, who he said he still has feelings for. It was obvious that Ben didn’t respect Sunny or their situation when he called Camille who wasn’t even on Below decks season 11
2 Ben always blames the women for his problems on the ship
Ben’s conflict is never his fault
Ben blamed his problems on women during Below decks season 11. On his boat trip with Sunny, he never took responsibility and could admit that he treated her badly. When Ben found out that Sunny was hurt, he still had feelings for Camille, Ben was unhappy. When Paris spoke to him about this, he was defensive and rude. “I tried to talk to Paris and she asks, “Why are you doing this to my girl Sunny?” he said and added, “I’m like ‘what the hell now?’
1 Ben called out Barbie for how she treated Kyle
Ben just had to fight Barbie over Kyle
Ben got involved in Barbie’s relationship with deckhand Kyle Stillie for no reason. One morning she asked Barbie if she was going to talk to Kyle because she was “very upset” about him. He went into the conversation passionately, referring to the fact that Barbie was “pushing this boy aside.” If Kyle was upset with Barbie, he should have talked to her instead of Ben attacking her. The interaction made Barbie uneasy, and she told Ben that she hadn’t approached him about Sunny’s treatment.
”
Sunny is also a great girl and I’m not going to attack you like you attack me. I don’t appreciate it.
”
Ben should have let Kyle approach Barbie alone. It’s great that he tried to support his friend. However, she may have ruined her friendship with Barbie as they have continued to struggle since the end of the season. In April, Barbie and Ben got into a fight on Instagram after she posted a picture with him. Ben confronting Barbie about Kyle was another instance of him stirring the pot for St. David.
Ben is a real villain Below decks season 11, one of the best reality TV shows right now. He takes his job as Bosun incredibly seriously, but that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to get his hands dirty in drama. He has always been a meddler and this season proves that he is the drama king of the season.
