Young’s has completed the acquisition of City Pub Group, which comprises 51 wet-led pubs in southern England and Wales.
The deal, originally announced in November last year, was estimated to be worth £162m.
Young’s said at the time that the deal presented a “rare opportunity” to expand the managed trading site by 50 pubs, bringing the total to 279 pubs.
The deal will see Young’s expand its footprint into new geographies including Cambridge and Norwich.
Simon Dodd, CEO of Young’s, said: “City Pubs is a company we have admired for some time and we are delighted to welcome our new team to the Young’s Group.
“City Pubs brings a selection of mainly freehold pubs that are closely aligned with our property and whose operating strategy is high-class, individual and different pubs and bedrooms.
“By sharing a similar culture, its team provides quality offerings and the highest level of customer service to their communities.”
