Move over Mr. Whippy and make way for Mr. Fishy, as a first-of-its-kind van is set to serve up scoops of gelato-style seafood (yes, you read that right) in wafer cones. And that’s the only thing fishy about this van, as this Friday (May 2), people in London can get free seafood soft serve cones for one day only – no catch, just the catch of the day on a cone.
Launched by Kraken roomwho created the world’s first black spiced rum, the Sea Scoops menu features flavours from a popular seafood recipe but presented in a format never seen before: as an ice cream-style scoop, in a black wafer cone and served out of the hatch of an actual ice cream van. Swapping the classic 99 with a chocolate flake for scoops of spicy tuna and creamy taramasalata topped with king prawns and caviarLondoners can try the bizarre yet surprisingly delicious treat for themselves.
Which flavours can you choose from?
Kraken Rum will be serving up three fishy flavours from their one of a kind van, including:
- Smoked mackerel pate scooptopped with Monster Munch, caviar and a Buffalo hot sauce drizzle
- Spicy sesame tuna scooptopped with octopus and a Kraken teriyaki glaze drizzle
- Taramasalata scooptopped with a king prawn and a wild garlic oil drizzle
How to get a free seafood soft serve cone in London
The van will be mooring at Battersea Power Station, serving free cones of seafood soft serve from 11.30am while samples last. Over-18s can also snag a sample of chilled Kraken Black Spiced Rum cocktails that have been perfectly paired with the seafood scoops.
The Sea Scoops van will be serving seafood delights at the following locations:

- Birmingham’s Rotunda Square, B5 4BU on Thursday, May 1
