Will Maximus die in the Fallout finale?
Although some may think that Aaron Moten’s Maximus was left for dead at the end of Amazon Prime Video Drop in the series, the character does not die.
Moten’s Brotherhood of Steel Aspirant enters the Griffith Observatory and meets Ella Purnell in the final chapter of Lucy Season 1.
When the attack on the observatory led by Maximus brothers’ comrades begins, he helps Lucy retrieve her father from the clutches of Lee Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury).
After handing over the secret of cold fusion energy to Moldaver – and getting a lecture on her father’s shady history as a former employee of Vault-Tec – Lucy and her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) are reunited.
However, she turns her back on her father when she learns that he left her mother for dead years earlier and set off the bombs that destroyed Shady Sands.
This prompts Hank to knock out Maximus and make a run for it. Lucy is forced to leave Maximus as he lies unconscious on the floor.
Moldaver is killed in the crossfire of the observatory’s attack, and Maximus wakes up to find his fellow Brotherhood watching him.
The group then praises him for allegedly killing Moldaver and one of the Bortherhood’s main rivals, even though that wasn’t the case.
This is why Maximus is the newly crowned leader of the Brotherhood of Steel with no memory of where Lucy went or why.
This could create a conflict for the character in season 2 when Maximus questions why Lucy rejected him when he tried to come back to her for the finale.

Lucy learns that her mother took the vault dweller away at a young age to live on the surface in the safety of the community of Shady Sands. However, his father Hank takes his child back from his wife Rose and drops a bomb on Shady Sands.
This leaves Rose as an irradiated ghost sitting at the table in the observatory where Hank was captured by the Moldaver.
After realizing who she is, Lucy ends her mother’s life and ends Rose’s eternal suffering.
