It’s that time of year again when everyone claims to be a little bit Irish – yes a great, great grandma on your dad’s side does count. Heading to your local for a pint or two of the black stuff is a good way to nod to St Patrick’s Day but if you want to take things up a notch, there’s plenty of live music, Irish dancing, and special dishes to enjoy. Here are the best places celebrate St Patrick’s Day in London.

Strong Roots Spice Bag Happy Hour at Bar Brasso

Celebrate St Paddy’s Day with London’s first-ever spice bag happy hour at Bar Brasso. Robin Gill has teamed up with Strong Roots to create three spice bags for the occasion, all served with curry sauce in proper takeaway fashion. There’s the Sweet & Spicy, made with sweet potato fries, spiced peppers and onions; the Fiery Punch, made with sweet potato fries, crispy tofu, black bean rayu and pickled chillies; and the Classic Kick, made with skinny fries, peppers, onions, and crispy tofu. As well as getting unlimited spice bags for an hour, paired with spiced margaritas or Irish stout, there’ll be live Irish music, free merch, prizes to be won and maybe even a Riverdancing drag queen. Best of all, it’s FREE to attend.

2-3 Viaduct Gardens, Nine Elms, SW11 7AY

The Sun Tavern

For exclusive Paddy’s Day cocktails, oysters, and live music, spend St Patrick’s Day at The Sun Tavern.
