30 July 2024 McKenna performed at the Franklin Summer Bash in Franklin, Tennessee with some of his colleagues American Idol season 22 contestants. They included Kayko, Mia Matthews, Kaibrienne, Jack Blocker and Quintavious Johnson. Also from Maddi Jane Sound season 25 aired.

In an Instagram post McKenna shared pictures and videos of the event. In the post title, he wrote: “Meeting the most amazing people on this planet again and it feels so good. Last night @franklinsummerbash was definitely one for the books.”

McKenna explained, “The power went out as soon as I started singing my last song, which happened to be Oceans by Hillsong. When the mic went off… the crowd started singing a cappella to keep the song going. All I can say is that I believe it was divine intervention and the spirit filled the entire room as we all praised the Lord together and in harmony. Forever grateful that I can keep this memory with me forever. I love you Franklin!! You have my whole heart and I will definitely be back!!”

In an Instagram post from August McKennaa revealed that he had recently had surgery to remove it. He wrote, “For those who don’t know, I recently had my vocal cords removed! I have had a vocal polyp for the past 10 years which I finally decided to part with. Surgery went so well and recovery is going even better thanks to @unchainedwellness!” Unchained Wellness is a wellness clinic in Gilbert, Arizona, McKenna’s hometown.
