Kirsten Perez performed My 600-lb lifeand curiosity surrounds how he has fared since the show. At the time of his episode, he weighed 612 pounds and had mobility issues. Worried about being bedridden, Kristen contacted the infamous Dr. Now. Like many other actors in the series, Kirsten lived with the consequences of the trauma. She revealed that she was gang-raped as a teenager, overeating as a coping mechanism.
He also had addiction problems in addition to food, which he talked about on the show.
Since Kirsten was avoiding therapy, Dr. Now gave her an ultimatum – if she refused therapy, he would withdraw his offer to help her. Kirsten agreed to Dr. Now’s request and underwent bariatric surgery. He even managed to surprise his father by doing so well. By the end of his episode, with the help of his therapist, he had begun to try to see things in a more positive light. Was Kirsten able to continue her weight loss journey after that My 600-lb life? Looks like he’s doing well.
People who are very overweight should talk to their doctors. Doctors can help them create realistic and healthy weight loss plans.
Kirsten’s journey to my 600kg life was a tumultuous one
His reduced mobility made him angry
Kirsten suffered so much from her high weight. In the video above, he was trapped in a body that betrayed him. Unable to move easily, her anger and frustration drove her to tears. It is distressing to watch an addict (Kirsten is addicted to food) self-destruct. Addiction is so powerful – it ruins (and often ends) life. On video Kirsten had trouble getting up from her chair and walking around. He said:
“It should take two seconds to get to the car, but it takes me about ten minutes.”
Kirsten also couldn’t enjoy driving because of her size. He managed to get into the passenger seat, but the door wouldn’t close. These experiences highlight how humiliating and demeaning super-hospital obesity can be. His frustration stemmed from a sense of powerlessness. At that point, his addiction was stronger than he was. Over time, however, he found the strength to lose more than 100 kilos. When he did that, he began to take control of his life. This weight loss was achieved after her gastric bypass procedure.
Kirsten had other challenges. Because he was so big, it was difficult for him to go swimming regularly. She depended on the help of others for many personal care tasks – her mother was her primary helper. Part of the psychological turmoil that led to obesity was due to “daddy issues.” In his family, he felt that his father preferred his brother.
Most people have these issues on some scale – they have mommy or daddy issues – they have body issues, etc. However, people who end up very overweight may also be dealing with mental illness. Their depression (or whatever mental health issue they have) makes it harder for them to get over things and focus on their own well-being. Mental illness is a matter of course in such situationsand many My 600-lb life stars have spoken about their depression.
Kirsten Perez gets trashed on Reddit
My 600-lb life fans don’t appreciate him
Despite this sad fact, there is little pity on Reddit. In fact, even as Kirsten sobbed on screen, the thread started DonutsJunction was harsh. Kirsten was torn. OP said:
I’m shocked at how much I HATE him. So she hates her family so much that she falls twice and then abandons her child with said family so she can continue a disgusting hedonistic life and then has the nerve to complain that her son has issues and is mean to her??? You gave your kids a broken home and then try to burden your teenage son with your care? YOU are the adult here! And throughout the episode, she yells at him unnecessarily. He whines and complains and has excuses for his excuses. His family has the patience of saints to put up with his absolute misery!
Kirsten has said shocking things and behaved badly. So he deserves some shade. However, mental health problems can be the reason. He should have stopped to think before he described the hospital like this:
“The Fat Man’s Concentration Camp”
It’s not good to make jokes about concentration camps. 12 million Jews died in World War II, and many of them perished in Nazi concentration camps. When he tried to say that the situation was intolerable, he could have used different words. Referring to sick genocide was insulting.
Kirsten moved back to Washington after my 600-lb life
He continued to work on his fitness
In 2016, Kirsten moved to Houston to be closer to Dr. Now and get him up and running My 600 kg life weight loss journey. However, after Kristen underwent bariatric surgery, she and her son moved to Washington. He was uncomfortable in Houston and had to send her back to Washington due to behavioral issues. While living there, he continued his weight loss journey.
Kirsten made an inspiring recovery after my 600kg life
Kirsten never gives up
Kirsten has lived a very quiet life, but she is undoubtedly healthier. Before she started her weight loss journey, she was struggling with addiction and her family members weren’t quite sure how to help her. His diet and addictions were out of control. Fortunately, he managed to pull himself up with the help of Dr. Now and his therapist, Lola Clay. It is not known if she still sees them, but they undoubtedly helped her feel better after a very traumatic time. Committing to therapy can be challenging, and Kirsten’s courage is to be commended.
Kirsten has been able to lose up to 200 kilos. He lost at least a hundred kilos. Although the weight is a lot, some reality stars have lost even more weight. For example, 1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton lost 440 pounds. She has undergone one of the most dramatic makeovers in reality TV history.
Despite that, Kirsten lost a lot of weight. Maybe he wanted to lose more weight, but he did. When an obese person changes their body by losing weight, they can minimize health risks.
There may be less visceral fat around the organs – this type of fat can trigger metabolic syndromes such as diabetes.
