American Idol season 22 Top 10 contestant Kayko gained a huge fan following in the series and since then she has been very busy with her music career. Kayko, whose full name is Sam Kelly-Cohen, was originally not going to audition American Idol. Instead, she was a piano accompanist for her friend Abby Blake, but the judges – Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan – asked her to audition as well. He stunned them with his beautiful original song “Time of Your Life”.




all the time American Idol season 22, Kayko proved to be a phenomenal musician, singing almost exclusively original songs, including “Time of Your Life”, “What If?”, “How to Live Without You” and “Over You”. In addition, Kayko sang “High & Dry” by Radiohead, “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye (ft. Kimbra) and “Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheatus. Because American Idol ended, Kayko has been busy promoting his originals. In an Instagram post published in July 2024 Kayko reported it his new song “Love You Goodbye” charted. He wrote, “okay but this song is currently #36 on the itunes pop charts…how crazy if we got to #1.”

After Kayko’s fall American Idol, he released his emo version of “Somebody That I Used to Know” and an accompanying video. In an Instagram post published in May 2024 Kayko a shared part of a video with a caption, “I remember listening to this song in 6th grade history class and thinking it should be emo. So I did it 12 years later LOL.”

In an Instagram post published in June 2024 Kayko reported it his American Idol the season 22 audition song “Time of Your Life” had reached the milestone of one million Streams. This incredible feat happened just a few months after Kayko sang the song on the show. In the comment section of the post, Kayko wrote, “Who’s ready to scream this song on tour?”

Kayko’s upcoming tour features familiar faces

In an Instagram post published in July 2024 Kayko announced his first official tour, called the “Time of Your Life” tourwhich is named after his hit song. The 14-date tour began on August 30, 2024 in Chicago at Reggie’s Rock Club and ended on September 29, 2024 in Orlando at Conduit. In the promotional poster for the tour, Kayko described herself as a “Nashville Artist accidentally on American Idol.”


In a September 20 Instagram post Kaykoannounced a new tour called “The Young & Out of Love Tour” headlined by Kaibrienne and Blake Proehl who was Kayko’s boyfriend. American Idol season 22 finalists as well American Idol season 21 finalist Haven Madison. The tour begins on October 29, 2024 in Portland, Oregon and ends on November 27, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. In the title of the message, he wrote: “SURPRISE!! We’re going on TOUR!! The Young & Out of Love Tour is coming to 21 different cities this fall. We can’t wait to see you all!!”
