The Sister wives The universe is still reeling from the tragic death of 25-year-old Garrison Brown, and now there’s an update on the cats he left behind. Garrison was one of Kody Brown’s 18 children and the son of Kody’s second wife, Janelle Brown. The young National Guardsman had been struggling with his mental health. After receiving some disturbing texts from her troubled son, Janell sent her other son, Gabriel Brown, to check on his brother. Gabriel found Garrison dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Garrison is survived by his father, four mothers, 18 siblings and three cats. Garrison’s beloved cats Patches, Catthew and Ms. Boots had lost their devoted father. The Sister wives the season 18 star was a cat lover and would have liked her cats to be well taken care of. For the love of Garrison, Janelle and the other browns had decided to put the cats in good “furever” homes, which is not an easy task with three cats. What happened to Garrison?
Gone too soon
Robert Garrison Brown was born on April 10, 1998. Until he was about 12 years old, he lived in a big house in Utah with his father, his mother, his father’s other wives and his 12 siblings. In 2010, Kody married his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and Brown’s children eventually grew to 18. The older children in the home often felt neglected by their father, especially as they grew upand this caused many resentments.
Things got even worse when the family was further divided by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kody and Robyn Brown were very afraid of the virus and set very strict mitigation rules. When Garrison and Gabriel couldn’t follow the rules, Kody interrupted them. Kody demanded that Janelle kick her son out of the house, but she refused, triggering her final decision to break up with Kody. With his family divided and the pandemic at rest, Garrison’s mental health deteriorated. According to his roommates, he had even been drinking heavily.
Janelle tried to help her son, but it was too late.

The The Brown family will never fully recover from the tragic loss of their beloved son and brother. Kody is especially upset because he didn’t even talk to his son when he died. Janelle grieved by spending time with her other children and starting a small business to help keep her distracted.
Kody’s third wife, Christine Brown, and her children recently planted a tree in honor of what would have been Garrison’s birthday. The Garrison siblings have posted in her memory, made sure her cats found good homes and kept her memory alive in many ways. On her birthday, Kody and Robyn were spotted at Caesar’s Palace mall in Las Vegas drowning their sorrows in a retail treat. After Garrison’s tragic death, some Sister wives fans wondered what would become of his cats Catthew, Patches, and Ms. Boots. In April 2024 To Jane posted a kitty update on Instagram. The post has a carousel of cat pictures and a caption that reads “Garrison’s Cats, Catthew and Patches are having a good time at Logan and Michelle’s place and Mrs. Boots is living her best life with Aspyn and Mitch. It was great that we could continue to take care of them the way he would.” The carousel features photos of all three cats in their new homes.
Taking care of Garrison’s cats is a beautiful way to connect with him.
