Wetherspoons pubs are ushering in the new year with a January sale which will see some pints for 99p. Many will be delighted by the news, although the temptation will not be welcomed by those trying to complete dry January.
But regardless of the New Year’s resolution health kick, Spoons will cut prices in around 770 pubs. Customers will be able to pick up pints of certain beers for as little as 99p. Food will also be reduced, with some meals costing as little as a fiver.
Peter Johnson, director of Central London The Moon Under Water, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it’s the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.
“The range of drinks and food sold in the pub is aimed at suiting a variety of tastes. This year we have brought our largest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks.
“I believe the January Sale will prove popular with our customers. As always the staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
The sale will run in a selection of pubs across the country from January 2 until January 16. A pint of Worthingtons will cost just 99p, Ruddles Best will cost £1.29 and Belhaven and Doom Bar will both cost £1.49 each.
Wines will also be part of the deal, with some types costing £2.49 for a 250ml glass. A wide range of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers, such as BrewDog Punk AF, will be available for £1.49.
There will also be a burger meal, including chips and a drink, available for £4.99 with a soft drink and £6.52 with an alcoholic drink. Some breakfasts, such as muffins and wraps, will also come with a soft drink for £2.99.
