This year, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, March 15, and it’s often a good time to treat our mums, celebrate the special women in our lives and pay tribute to those who made us who we are today.

English Heritage has many venues where you can visit this Mother’s Day and has a treat for your mum with 25 per cent off gift and annual membership when using code AFFNW25 at the checkout.

From historic castles to stunning gardens, English Heritage sites offer the perfect backdrop for making family memories. Discover fascinating stories of the past, enjoy beautiful landscapes, and revel in quality time with your loved ones. Here is a selection of English Heritage’s favourite destinations for you to explore this Mother’s Day.

Osborne, Isle of Wight.

A family home at its heart, this beauty spot is the perfect place to celebrate Mother’s Day. Explore the gardens and grounds and enjoy a paddle on Queen Victoria’s private beach. Find out about Osborne here.

Dover Castle, Kent.

Enjoy a family outing to this mighty coastal fortress to discover the new ‘Dover Castle under seige’ exhibition, Great Tower, secret wartime tunnels and much more…check out Dover Castle on the English Heritage website.

Beestone Castle and Woodland Park, Cheshire.

Boasting spectacular views from the Pennines to the Welsh mountains, Beeston Castle is perfect for photography lovers. Don’t miss the castle keep and reconstructed Bronze Age house…find out on the website here.

Audley End House and Gardens, Essex.

Explore the Service Wing to learn about Victorian life ‘below stairs’, visit the resident horses and discover beautiful gardens designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown and Robert Adam. Plan your visit to Audley End House via the English Heritage website.

Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire.

This 17th-century mansion was once intended solely for pleasure and extravagant display. Explore the cavalier Riding School, Little Castle and wall walk – and treat yourself to cake in the café. Take a peek and be inspired.

Witley Court and Gardens, Worcestershire.

Reduced to ruins by fire in 1937, Witley Court is now surrounded by glorious landscaped gardens. Highlights include the spectacular lake, French Parterre and Perseus and Andromeda fountain. Plan your visit via the English Heritage website.

Rievaulx Abbey, North Yorkshire.

Embrace peace and tranquillity this Mother’s Day. Explore the abbey’s soaring ruins, set in a remote valley in the North York Moors National Park, and visit the fascinating exhibition.

Walmer Castle and Gardens, Kent.

Stroll through the beautiful (and extensive) gardens created for the Queen Mother’s 95th birthday. Inside, you’ll find a surprisingly home-y atmosphere and the original Wellington Boots. Check out Walmer Castle here.

We’ve teamed up with the charity to offer 25 per cent off gift and annual memberships which gives the chance to see its sites in every season. What’s more English Heritage membership allows every member to take up to six children under the age of 18 within the family group into any of the English Heritage properties at no extra charge.

Want to find out more? Simply click here!

Use code AFFNW25 at the checkout.

Offer ends: December 31, 2026.
