Located in Tulse Hill, South London, E-ACT City Heights is an academy on the rise.
The school is currently rated Good by Ofsted and educates boys and girls from 11 to 18 years of age. Under the leadership of Principal Mr. Marvin Charles, the school aims to develop tomorrow’s leaders; compassionate and articulate learners who are ready and prepared to take the next step in their learning or a career of their choice.
This “journey to excellence,” as the school puts it, involves working toward outstanding academic results for all students; a culture that creates the conditions for success and reflects the school’s values; high standards, expectations and aspirations across the board; developing great staff and people; and nurture a community of stakeholders who care.
The school also believes in ‘doing the right thing’ – representing who they are and their values, even if no one is watching.
As part of the E-ACT network, City Heights has close links with 27 other academies and educates over 18,000 students across England, sharing best practice and working to raise standards.
As well as the excellent teaching and opportunities available within the academy, it also has partnerships with Dulwich College – which offers experiences and enrichment for students across all years – and the Manchester United Foundation, which offers a personal development mentoring programme.
City Heights also works with Mentivity, which provides students with opportunities for mindfulness and mentoring, and the Southwark Schools Partnership (SSLP) where there are opportunities in STEM subjects.
Charles said, “It is truly a privilege to be the principal of E-ACT City Heights Academy. From the moment our students walk through our doors, they are inspired and nurtured to experience a wide range of opportunities to be better equipped for the future.
“Our core purpose is centered on all our children, regardless of ability, achieving to the best of their ability. We have very high expectations for our children and place great emphasis on instilling mutual respect throughout their academic journey and beyond.
“At E-ACT City Heights Academy, we deliver an enriched curriculum through high quality teaching where protection is a priority. We see each child as an individual and believe that supporting them in their wellbeing is just as important as supporting them academically to help them reach their full potential.”
