If you’ve ever fancied stepping straight through the cinema screen and into one of Wes Anderson’s postmodern masterpieces; this may well be the closest you’re ever going to get. The private dining room inside Soho‘s beloved Bob Bob Ricard has been temporarily turned into a Wes Anderson-themed wonderland to celebrate the release of his latest film, The Phoenician Scheme. But you’ve got less than a month to pay it a visit, so you’d better be speedy.

The pop-up bar has transformed the Red Room beneath Bob Bob Ricard into Marseille Bob’s (the luxurious locale featured in the film). Giving every nook and cranny of the Soho spot the Wes Anderson treatment, the bar has been filled to the brim with immersive design touches, theatrical food and drinkand a whole load of Anderson-themed bits and bobs.

Marseille Bob’s at Bob Bob Ricard

The Phoenician Scheme marks Wes Anderson’s 12th feature film and tells the story of a family and their family-run business. The Red Room’s transformation has been inspired by the film’s sets, scenery and characters. Visitors to the Marseille Bob’s pop-up will be immediately greeted by a bespoke neon sign, guiding them down to the bar. And the staff will even be sporting white blazers, red carnations and signature fez hats to replicate the costumes in the movie.

The extra-special cocktail menu will also reference moments of the movie. Guests can sip on the likes of a ‘Tycoon on the Rocks’ (a pipette-served margarita that changes colour to resemble a poison test), a ‘Hand grenade’ (a white Negroni twist that nods towards a line in the film), or a ‘Virgin Novitiate’ (an elegant and enigmatic champagne cocktail). Themed bar snacks will come in the form of giant salted pretzels and tins of smoked anchovies with bread and butter – all of which reference moments from the film.

The Marseille Bob’s pop-up will take over Bob Bob Ricard’s Red Room until June 22.

📍 1 Upper James Street, W1F 9DF.
