I know that the weather doesn’t exactly scream ‘let’s go to the beach‘ at the moment. But in preparation for the warm and sunny months (remember those?), London Southend Airport has just announced a handy new flight route that’ll whizz passengers from the capital city, straight to the Cornish coast.
Sprawling across nine miles of shoreline, Newquay is the charming seaside town perched on the very edge of England. Known for its beautiful beaches and sensational surfing culture, Newquay is a pretty darn perfect place to visit. And luckily for us Londonersit’s about to get even easier for us to get there.
As part of a new partnership with Eastern AirwaysLondon Southend Airport will now offer a daily flight to Cornwall Airport Newquay and back again. The new flight route marks the airport’s 20th holiday destination and had previously been heavily requested by those living in London, Essex and East Angliawanting a quicker and easier way to access the south west of England.
Journey fares start at £59.99 and the journey will take just 90 minutes each way. The new service will compliment the UK airline’s existing flight offering between Cornwall and London Gatwick. Despite technically being in Essex, London Southend Airport is surprisingly quick and easy to get to with regular, direct, and oh so speedy trains running from Liverpool Street and Stratford.
Amy SmithHead of Commercial at Cornwall Airport Newquay, said: “The new service from Eastern Airways will provide a convenient and efficient way to travel between the east and west of our country and further supplements our London connectivity, meeting the increased leisure demand in the summer months.”
The flights from London Southend to Newquay will start from April 3, but tickets are on sale now. Find out more and book your tickets here.
