A bold new chapter in London’s theatre scene is set to unfold at one of the city’s most iconic gateways.
Plans are underway for a temporary theatre to be built right next to Marble Archoffering a creative lifeline for the West End’s Arts Theatre while its main venue undergoes a major refurbishment.
A brand new theatre for the West End
The project, led by HH Productionsproposes to transform the open lawn beside Marble Arch into a vibrant performance space. If approved by Westminster Councilthe pop-up theatre is expected to open its doors in March 2026 and remain in place for up to two years.
The theatre will sit directly adjacent to the Marble Arch monument, at the western end of Oxford Street and it will serve as the temporary home for a Olivier Award-nominated musicalas well as hosting other productions and events during its run.

The headline act for the new venue will be The Choir of Mana feel-good, high-energy show that blends chart-topping hits, live music, and a working on-stage pub. The production has enjoyed a successful run at the Arts Theatre and is known for its immersive, interactive atmosphere – audiences can even grab a pint on stage before the show begins.
Consultation and next steps for Marble Arch’s new theatre space
Before any construction begins, HH Productions will hold a public consultation event on Monday, 21st July 2025at the Marriott Park Lane hotel (opposite Marble Arch). This session will give locals, theatre fans, and businesses a chance to view the proposals, meet the architects, and share feedback.
No formal planning application has been submitted yet, but the consultation marks the first step in the approval process. If all goes ahead, the theatre will operate for two years, providing a unique cultural offering in a high-profile, central London location.
