a giant water park on st andrews lake in kent

As temperatures soar in London this week, many will be searching for ways to stay cool and make the most of the sunshine. Just a short 40-minute trip from the city, there’s a spot in Kent that promises both an escape from the heat and excitement: St Andrews Lakes in Halling.

Set against the shimmering turquoise waters of a former chalk quarry, St Andrews Lakes boasts Kent’s largest inflatable aqua parkcomplete with a private beach, floating obstacle course, and an array of slides and splash zones. The latest addition, The bossnow stands as the park’s towering centrepiece – a brand-new slide that opened on June 13 and has quickly become a public favourite.

Spanning more than 70 acres, the spring-fed lake is renowned for its dazzlingly clear blue water, a result of suspended chalk particles that reflect sunlight beautifully. The park continues to expand its attractions, offering jump stations, splash zones, and floating obstacles that cater to visitors of all ages and adventure levels.

Beyond the main aqua park, St Andrews Lakes features paddleboarding and kayaking, with expert lessons available, a secluded sandy beach, zip line, axe throwing, wall climbing, and archery, a dedicated kids’ aqua park for younger visitors, sailing courses and open water swimming and a Scandinavian-style wellness centre with lakeside saunas, hot tubs, and a cold plunge lagoon for relaxation.

How to get to St Andrews Lake in Halling

St Andrews Lakes is located in Halling, a picturesque village between Cuxton and Snodlandnot far from Rochester. The journey from London takes just 40 minutes by car or can be reached via train and a short walk, making it an accessible day trip for city dwellers.
