The World Press Photo Exhibition is making its much-anticipated return to London this summer, bringing three months of breathtaking photography to the brand-new MPB Gallery at Here East.

One of the most prestigious showcases of photojournalism and documentary photography, this powerful exhibition takes visitors on a visual journey through some of the most defining moments shaping our world today.

After an incredible 2024 tour that drew over 3 million visitors across 66 locations worldwide, the exhibition continues to set the gold standard for visual storytelling. Since 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation has been shining a light on global stories through stunning, impactful imagery.

Kicking off on 23rd May and running until 25th August 2025visitors will get the chance to step into the world of some of the most talented photographers on the planet.

This year’s exhibition will take place at Here East, right in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Hackney Wickperfectly timed with the launch of the V&A Storehouse on the same campus.

London Exhibition Director, Woody Andersonstated: “Bringing this exhibition back to London for a second year is a huge moment for us. After a seven-year absence, its return in 2024 proved just how much people love and value it. We’re thrilled to keep building on that success and cementing it as a must-see event on the UK’s cultural calendar.”

Mike Magan, COO of Here Easthighlighted why this is such a big deal: “East London has become a real hub for creativity, attracting world-class institutions and artists. With the V&A Storehouse opening this spring, the launch of Sadler’s Wells East, the upcoming BBC Music Studios, and now the return of the World Press Photo Exhibition, this part of London is setting the pace for the future of the creative industries—and we’re proud to be right at the centre of it.”

With its stunning imagery, compelling stories, and unique perspectives, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience – celebrating the power of photography to inform, inspire, and connect us all.
