What to know before the Elden Ring add-on
Before heading back to The Worlds Between Erdtree’s shadow Ring of fire There are a few things about the DLC that fans should know.
Getting to the content itself isn’t as easy as selecting a new option from a menu or walking to another location while the game is loading.
There are a few requirements to participate in the DLC expansion.
Players must defeat the bosses Radahn and Mohg before they can access the content. These are two battles that go about two-thirds of the way through a typical game.
If the New Game+ file is triggered, players will again have to defeat two terrifying enemies in the same way as if it were the first time through a vanilla save file.
After Radahn and Mohg are killed and their runes are collected, fans must touch the Withered Hand in Mohg’s battle arena to open a portal to the Land of Shadows where the DLC takes place.
When finally in Erdtree’s shadow expansion content, fans are reportedly in for a treat.
Early impressions from the game’s various preview events suggest that the upcoming DLC is something to watch.
It features an all-new area that’s about a quarter the size of the vanilla game’s open-world map and features all kinds of new enemies to face.
There are also all-new weapons and playstyles for fans to master, including a new martial arts-style hand-to-hand weapon.
The exact number of new bosses hasn’t been confirmed in the DLC, but it’s expected to take around 15-30 hours for fans to get through.
This is due not only to some of the game’s new Legacy Dungeon environments, but also to new expanded and more varied dungeons and catacombs that were not present in the original game.
As with the base game, exploration is said to be key in this new addition to the critically acclaimed 2022 hit. Thanks to From Software, every digital nook and cranny of their huge open world is worth exploring.
The Shadow of Erdtree Elden’s Ring The DLC will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on Friday, June 21.
