Public House Group is moving away from posh pubs for its newest spot
Public House Group is behind some of the vibiest recent openings in London, including The Hart, The Fat Badger and The Hero. The group has hit on a winning formula – posh pubs with a casual bar on the ground floor and dining rooms above – but it’s trying something different for its next act and opening an Italian restaurant instead.
CeCe’s, opening in Notting Hill, is promising old-school hospitality, elegant interiors (we’re talking palms, soft fabrics and table lamps) and classic Italian dishes. The menu is set to include:
- aubergine parmesan
- bream carpaccio with caviar
- agnolotti fondue
- chicken vignole
- Florentine steak
There’ll be plenty of Italian wines to go with it all, with a decent selection of bottles from Burgundy and Bordeaux, plus classics from across Europe and the USA.
Speaking about CeCe’s, Public House Group co-founder Olivier van Themsche said: “Initially we looked at the space as it was once a pub, but we fell in love with the glamour and unique design. The surreal interiors and character hidden behind the copper door inspired us to create a restaurant that felt both current and exciting, whilst retaining the allure of traditional hospitality”.
There’s been a spate of Italian openings recently, including Tiella and Osteria Vibrato, and we have no doubt that this one will be just as popular.
