Ever fancied having the King of England as your next-door neighbour? Well now’s your chance because a luxury multi-million home across the road from and directly opposite Buckingham Palace has gone on the market for a cool £45 million. Although we’d imagine King Charles won’t be the neighbour you go to ask to borrow a cup of sugar.
With an eye-watering price tag like that, you’d of course expect the works; pristine finishings, out-of-this-world amenities, and a one of a kind location that probably gave the asking price a hefty injection and you’d be right.
The terraced Grade II listed townhouse was built in the 19th century and spans over seven floors, which could very well be a nightmare to climb up and down on a daily weren’t it for the handy dandy lift built into the home. There are five stunning reception rooms with soaring ceilings, six bathrooms all decked out in marble and six bedrooms of which the master suite takes up the entire second floor with his and her bathrooms and dressing rooms, as grand as one can get other than living in a palace.
For anyone who finds it an absolute hassle to drag themselves out of the house for a spa treatment or to the gym, you’d be very glad to know that the home has its own spa spanning the entirety of the basement floor “with a strong contemporary look and facilities superior to those found in most private clubs or hotels”, Zoopla claims.
In the spa, you’ll find an almost 35-foot swimming pool, sauna, treatment room, gym, bar and his and her changing rooms. There’s also spa and staff accommodation, comprising two double bedrooms, a kitchen and a shower room if ever you fancied a massage at the drop of a hat, or pretty much anything else in the house done for you.
Hang out in the library or cosy up to a film in the cinema room, you’d hardly have any reason to step foot out the door. But if you do fancy heading out, you’ll be in a neighbourhood where some of London’s most iconic landmarks are only a short walk away; with Whitehall, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, and the Royal Parks at St James’s and Green Park at your disposal.
