There are all sorts of exciting festive things to look forward to as Christmas slowly approaches, on the horizon. And yes, we may still have Halloween to celebrate, but we’re already buzzing to see the city overcome with the festive spirit. After all, it’s a wondrous sight to see the city suffused with holiday light displays and shop windows decorated with Christmassy cheer. And who can forget the return of the city’s many Christmas markets? Spitalfields Market has got us chomping at the bit for the festive markets as they announce the return of the Spitalfields Christmas Market.
Get ready for twinkling lights, Christmas trees, and plenty of mulled wine because the festive shopping and dining destination will return this November. They’ll be turning on the Christmas lights, chucking on some chunky festive sweaters, and celebrating with festivities and cheer all through the holiday season.
Guests can expect all sorts of Christmas events, from live theatre shows to fun activities and special offers at shops and venues. Billing itself as “East London’s jolliest Christmas market”, the Christmas market will accent the area’s already heaving selection of retail opportunities, from independent market stalls to global retail icons, as well as the many food and beverage vendors.
Spitalfields E1 vendors
Spitalfields Market is a globally renowned destination that brings together everything you need for a day out in one convenient package. Within metres of each other, you can find independent fashion, beauty, and wellness brands, as well as a daily traders market. There you can browse art from local makers, and grab one-of-a-kind gifts from the many, many stalls.
When you’ve worked up an appetite there’s a HUGE amount of food market stalls, restaurants, and bars, with something for everyone. They even recently opened a brand-new Lamb Street food hub, to make it even harder for foodies to choose what to eat.
Theatre at Spitalfields Christmas Market
As if a whole host of shopping and dining options wasn’t enough, the market will also host the UK’s first zero-waste theatre from The Greenhouse Theatre. They’ll be debuting their new play The Lost Library of Spitalfields Market from December 1-24. The play follows a young girl trying to buy a Christmas present for her mother, when she stumbles upon a hidden library of discarded and forgotten objects in Spitalfields Market.
As well as the performance, they’ll also be offering up a range of family-friendly activities and workshops, sustainable gift wrapping, and a zero-waste bar. Grab a ticket and find out more about the events on offer from The Greenhouse Theatre’s pop-up here.
More details are being revealed about the Spitalfields Christmas Market every day, so head to the Spitalfields E1 website to plan your visit and keep up to date with upcoming events.
