End Fallout the first season had fans wondering if season 2 would take the iconic spot in Bethesda’s popular video game Fallout: New Vegas.
Rather than adapting any individual Bethesda Drop games, the 2024 series is an original story set in the same world. The Amazon Prime Video adaptation, set in Los Angeles in the year 2296, is the latest story Drop timeline so far.
Fallout In the eighth episode, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) fled Los Angeles in power armor after being exposed as the bomb dropper at Shady Sands. In the final moments of the show, Hank’s next destination apparently turned out to be one very recognizable place. Drop Lore: New Vegas.

Fallout Showrunner Teases Season 2 Location
With speculation running rampant as to where Drop Season 2 could go, one of the showrunners of the series, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, has added fuel to the fire.
I spoke to the Hollywood Reporter before Fallout The official Season 2 recap, Robertson-Dworet said the Season 1 finale works “a little movie towards what we are going to do” next season:
“We don’t want to do too many spoilers, but we’re thinking about a possible season 2 right now. Fans should look forward to the finale as a little flick towards what we’re going to do in a possible second season.”
When asked if this means the series will explore New Vegas, the showrunner replied, “That would be a big spoiler” before you declined to comment further.
Jonathan Nolan was asked the same thing by The Wrap and he said it is “one place in particular” which he would like to explore from there Drop games.
“(There is) one area in particular that is closed to my heart that I would love to explore if we had the chance.”
Although Nolan chose not to reveal this location, Fallout: New Vegas is one of the most popular games in the series, so it seems plausible that as a fan of the games, Nolan could hint at this.
Fallout The credits also give a hint for the next season. Each episode’s end credits sequence has set a precedent by showing snippets of locations that the series will then explore in subsequent episodes. The end credits of episode 8 highlight many places Fallout: New Vegaswhich gives an additional hint that season 2 is going here.
What could Fallout season 2 do in New Vegas?
Assuming Drop Season 2 is heading to the Nevada wastelands, the new location certainly offers some interesting story potential.
Seems likely Drop continues from the end of season 1.
In the eighth episode, it was revealed that the Ghoul, formerly Cooper Howard, had been searching the wasteland for his wife and daughter. It also appeared that Hank, as a cryogenically frozen Vault-Tec employee, had knowledge of their whereabouts.
In the finale, Lucy, having learned of her father’s evil deeds, teamed up with the Ghoul to hunt him down.
Hank clearly travels to New Vegas after escaping Moldaver’s captivity, so it seems that the answers about the Cooper family can be found there as well.
End Fallout: New Vegas is known to be open. In the final act, the player character (the courier) can choose to side with the New California Republic, Mr. House, Caesar’s Legion, or be independent, all leading to a new outcome and fate in the New City. Vegas.
Although the TV show is set about 15 years later in the timeline, setting the next season in New Vegas opens up the possibility for the series to deal with what happened after the events of the 2010 game.
