Vision boarding, cocktail making and unlimited coffee for £5, The Exchange has it all
The Exchange is a community hub powered by North Paddington Foodbank who are the UK’s first and only cash-first foodbank. Instead of offering food parcels, the foodbank gives out cash and vouchers instead, creating real routes out of crisis. This in turn helps foodbanks evolve into hubs of culture, care and community.
The space, designed by Fran Lee, founder of not-for-profit design studio Flourish, with input from West London residents, is a different kind of community centre. The Exchange hosts a vast array of events, from chess nights to pilates to cocktail making, and all events are intergenerational. We’ve even heard that the Saturday morning pilates class often sees popular DJs working out with the more elderly members and the vision boarding allows people to map out their dreams while getting advice from others who may have lived similar lives…

They’re currently looking for volunteers so sign up via their website and be sure to check out their events! They are always looking for new partners to work with, from putting on events to taking over the space.
