Okunowo played a pivotal role in expanding the reach of West African cuisine after emerging as a semi-finalist in Masterchef in 2020, honing in on the simplicity of his chosen ingredients to make Pan-African dishes using techniques developed throughout his culinary career. Although he still faces the challenge of expressing his dishes to a broader audience at times, Okunowo stands in his truth, preserving the authenticity of his creations. The success of his supper clubs is a testament to the effectiveness of his approach – creating food on his terms and not diluting it for wider appeal.
Staying true to his Pan-African mission, Okunowo is set to embark on a redemption tour across the African continent in 2024, bringing together his love for African culture, history, community and food. For a front-row seat, make sure to stay connected to his social media channels.

After working in prestigious restaurants in Washington D.C., Trinidadian-born Danclair decided to relocate to London to open the renowned Fish, Wings & Tings restaurant in Brixton Village as chef Owner. His mission has been the same since the first day he opened his doors: to showcase Caribbean cuisine to the world. The acclaim for his food speaks volumes: people from around the globe visit his colourful and cosy restaurant to enjoy homecooked dishes like jerk chicken glazed with tamarind BBQ sauce for the first time. Notable figures like Naomi Campbell and Idris Elba also run back for Fish, Wings & Tings’ codfish fritters, made with the freshest ingredients.

Entrepreneurship has run through Danclair’s veins from a young age, so it’s no surprise that he opened another restaurant in Brixton Village, Danclair’s, in 2021. There, Danclair maintains the same seasonings but explores innovation with upscale dishes, while playing with palates by incorporating plates from other African diaspora communities.
For vegetarians, set your calendars for late January because Danclair is expanding his empire even further by opening Veg & Tings, a strictly vegetarian restaurant in none other than Brixton Village. We do not doubt that the community will show up to support, just as they have done for years.
