The main square in Poznan, Poand with a big church and colourful houses

Look, I’m not afraid to admit that my happiness levels directly correlate with how many holidays I have in the diary. What I am slightly more reluctant to confess, however, is quite how much time I spend scouring the internet for cheap flightsand wistfully watching TikTok videos of random people jetting off to various gorgeous places across the globe. Yes, my algorithm has read me like a guide book, and serves me up a daily dose of travel content to ensure that my wanderlust is consistently piqued. But as a girl who books trips as though she’s competing in an Olympic sport, it sure does come in handy when a load of affordable flights from London are presented to me. And luckily enough, the lovely lot over at KAYAK seemed to have got the memo.

Each and every month the travel search engine digs through its data to decipher the cheapest spots to fly to from each UK airport. The October numbers have been crunched, and alongside the destinations and the price it’ll cost to fly to each of them, KAYAK also shows how the costs are set to fluctuate over the next five months. Aren’t they helpful?

So, sun-seekers, culture-vultures, and, well… anybody in desperate need of a spontaneous city break; allow me to point you in the direction of the cheapest place to fly to from London this month.

The cheapest city to fly to from London this October

Topping the cheap-and-cheerful charts this month is Poznan in Poland. The historic and oh-so beautiful city is the fifth largest in the country, and it’ll cost Londoners as little as £28 to fly there. The city is a picture-perfect blend of old and new. And it boasts a vibrant town square (complete with cobblestone streets and rows of colourful houses), a big old lake, the oldest cathedral in Polandand an impressive food and nightlife offering. Serving up history, charm, and culture in spades; Poznan is a true hidden gem in Europe’s full-to-bursting treasure trove of destinations.

The flights may be cheap, but the affordability doesn’t stop there, folks. According to cost of living database, Numbeo, visitors can enjoy a three-course meal in a mid-range restaurant for under £20 per persona pint of local beer for around £2.50and a ride on public transport for less than £1. Not bad, hey?
