Bachelor star Kelsey Anderson expressed how scary it is to see the wildfires ravaging Southern California up close right now. Kelsey and her fiance Joey Graziadei haven’t lived there for long. After Bachelor in season 28, they lived in New Orleans and then found a temporary place to live while Joey competed Dancing with the Stars. Now they finally settle into their own home in Los Angeles, still trying to quash rumors that they are on the verge of a divorcewhich may rise again after they revealed that the wedding isn’t happening anytime soon.

BachelorKelsey Anderson is scared when she sees the fires raging in California.

His Instagram Stories Kelsey posted a photo of his car showing a sky filled with smoke and orange haze from distant flames. She added a caption saying “I woke up this morning to what seems like the end of the world.” Kelsey has never experienced anything like this beforeand it is”very scary to see up close.” His thoughts are with everyone whose lives have been upended by the horrific fires, and he is “thanks to our first responders.”

Joey also posted his own Instagram stories about the fires. Her first message echoed Kelsey’s thoughts of everyone affected by this tragedy and also thanked the first responders she called.real heroes (sic).” Later, he shared a photo of the plane sitting on the tarmac at the airport with smoke in the distance; he called the situation”crazy“and told everyone”stay safe.”

The fires that have broken out in California in recent days have been devastating. Because Kelsey and Joey live in Los Angeles, they can see the tragedy firsthand. Kelsey’s Instagram Story featured a gas station next to the road she was driving on. It is unclear how far from home this photo was takenor how close the fires themselves are Bachelor to the home of the stars. There have been reports of evacuations in affected areas, including celebrities who have had to leave their houses to stay safe.

Since Kelsey and Joey didn’t mention anything about how the fires affect them personally, one could assume they live far enough away that they don’t need to evacuate. Wildfires are a common natural disaster in California, and since Kelsey and Joey are new to the Golden State, this is one devastation they’ll likely see year after year, although it’s shocking to see these fires right now in the middle of winter, but the Santa Ana winds are to blame.

There are several natural disasters that have a greater impact depending on where you live. Kelsey knows this firsthand because she is from Louisiana, a state that has to deal with hurricanes. Hopefully Kelsey and Joey stay safe, even though it looks like the latter has left town. Kelsey will no doubt keep her followers updated in the days to come if the situation at home gets much worse.

Bachelor season 29 premieres January 27th at 8pm EST on ABC.
