Throughout the year, inspectors from the Michelin guide travel the world in search of high-quality gastronomic experiences. The guide was first launched in 1900 and provides information beyond the number of stars.
Various types of facilities can be found in it, including ones that suit all budgets. And this month, three London sites have been added to the prestigious list.
Sesta, Llama Inn and Ibai are now included in the “UK & Ireland” selection. All located in North London, they have been highly praised by inspectors.
Sixth
Sesta is a wine bar and restaurant located in London Fields. Opened last September by Drew Snaith and Hannah Kowalski, it serves creative modern takes on British and European classics.
As well as an extensive wine list, highlights include Gubbeen cheese tar, lamb bacon ribs and date and tahini sorbet. The inspectors said: “An appealing à la carte, which includes tasty snacks such as pea and ham fritters and a beef ragout toastie.
“There’s a short but great cocktail list and plenty of natural wines. And the delightful staff sashay around the small space with impressive efficiency.”

Llama Inn
Llama Inn first opened in Brooklyn in 2015, with a modern take on Peruvian cuisine. Now a cult favorite on the New York food scene, it has made its way to London.
The menu offers pisco sours and Latin American spirits along with stonebass ceviche, sudado seafood stew, slow braised beef empanada and more. “A pisco sour, with some cheese yucas, will let your taste buds know that fresh, zesty flavors are coming their way,” the inspectors said.

Not far from Bank and St Paul’s, Ibai takes its inspiration from Basque cuisine, while incorporating the region’s French influences. The venue particularly features ictopus and piped marmitako and Galician blonde steaks from Spain on its menu.
The inspectors said: “Quality ingredients are used throughout, treated with care and often cooked over fire. Wine enthusiasts will be impressed by the well-stocked cellar.”
