We are currently experiencing one of the biggest ever surges of Sars-CoV-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19), which is overwhelming hospitals globally. Actual cases may be up to 19 times higher than reported (most countries have dismantled surveillance).
Last month, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reminded the world that we remain in a pandemic and issued guidance for universal masking in healthcare. Improved ventilation in crowded indoor spaces (such as schools), testing, isolation, antivirals and vaccines for all were also recommended.
