Volunteer with forum+!

Our wonderful volunteer team is integral to us delivering our services.

As well as making friends and learning new skills, volunteers bring their experience, enthusiasm and knowledge to forum+. forum+ volunteers give their time on a regular basis, volunteer at a one-off event, or help us deliver our social support groups online and in-person across our local area.

While our volunteers support forum+ in a variety of different ways the main role at our charity is forum+ community engagement and outreach volunteer.

This is an enjoyable and interesting role as we engage and support the community across Camden and Islington.

Whether sharing information about our services at a local festival or assisting in the kitchen at our fun cookery class Cooking With Pride, a fulfilling and rewarding experience awaits.

Right now is an especially exciting time to join with forum+ as we celebrate Camden & Islington LGBT History Month 2026.

In the remaining days of February there is still so much to enjoy! We’ve got three of our own events to look forward to and the full programme for LGBT History Month in Camden and Islington can be downloaded and viewed from our website.

On Saturday, February 21, enjoy a day long, community-focused event celebrating LGBT history at the British Museum. From 11am to 3pm, choose from a number of engaging activities spotlighting Alan Turing, Sappho and the museum’s LGBT collection.

They’ll be creative activities, talks, tours and workshops, and it’s all free to join!

On Thursday, February 26, discover local LGBT history in The British Library’s Collections!

Join with forum+ and explore fascinating items including historical newspapers and published works, and uncover the rich, impactful history of Camden and Islington’s LGBT community.

We’re bringing the curtain down on LGBT History Month 2026 with a fantastic finale at our Zine Workshop, taking place on Saturday, February 28.

We’re proud of the work we do at forum+ and of our collaborative, friendly and positive volunteering environment.

If you wish to join us in our mission to inspire, empower and enrich the lives of LGBT people living in Camden and Islington please email: [email protected]
