The living room area of the new hotel by Dishoom

If you’ve ever managed to bag yourself a booking at Dishoomyou’ll know that with its sumptuous seating, low lighting, and outrageously delicious food; it’s one of those spots that you could quite happily spend all night in. But that would be impossible, right? Well, it would have been impossible… until now.

Having swung open the doors of its swanky new Notting Hill hotspot, the Permit Room, earlier this year; the lovely lot over at Dishoom are continuing to level up their London locations – and will now be offering overnight stays for the very first time.

Permit Room Lodgings

Perched up on the second floor of the Portobello Road restaurant, Permit Room Lodgings will offer a relaxing retreat in the heart of the capital city. Serving up warmth, charm, character, and a delicious dollop of that Bombay nostalgia that Dishoom is known (and adored) for; the gorgeously-designed guesthouse will well-and-truly put the comfort in comfort food.

Inspired by the historical Lodgings Houses and classic Deco hotels of India, and evocative of the Irani cafes that inspired Dishoom; the mini-hotel has been thoughtfully-designed and carefully created to provide the perfect home-from-home experience for visitors.

The lodgings feature two ensuite bedrooms and a separate living room, and ooze understated opulence. There’s huge arched windows (complete with a cracking view of Portobello Road below), parquet flooring, antique furniture, king-sized beds, a fully-stocked bar (where guests can mix their own cocktails), and an impressive collection of carefully-curated South Asian artwork adorning the walls.

Just like the restaurants dotted across the city, the picture-perfect pad is a love letter to Bombayand will provide the perfect day-to-night hospitality experience. Guests will also have the option of having their breakfast delivered to them in bed. And I truly believe that my life will peak at the moment that I’m able to stuff my face with one of DISHOOM’s IConic Naan Rolls without having to get out of bed.

A stay at Permit Room Lodgings costs £700 per night, with a minimum stay of two nights, and a maximum stay of seven nights. Find out more and book your stay here.
