The school has built a strong reputation for academic success, a warm environment and a commitment to ensuring every child is known, supported and able to achieve their full potential.

Its guiding values of Love, Respect and Positivity shape daily life and learning.

These principles are reflected in the close relationships between pupils, staff and families, creating a welcoming and inclusive school community where children feel safe, confident and inspired.

Over generations, St Paul’s has served families across Wood Green and beyond, proudly reflecting the diversity and spirit of the area.

This strong sense of belonging underpins the school’s excellent outcomes. Through high expectations, dedicated teaching and a carefully designed curriculum, children leave St Paul’s well prepared for the next stage of education and life.

From Reception onwards, pupils are immersed in stories and rich texts that spark curiosity.

Teachers focus on developing confident, fluent readers who read for both knowledge and pleasure.

Classrooms and corridors celebrate books and storytelling, encouraging pupils to explore literature that helps them understand the world.

Learning also extends beyond the classroom through a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Pupils regularly visit galleries, museums and cultural spaces, broadening their horizons and nurturing creativity.

To mark its 140th year, St Paul’s is planning a series of community celebrations.

A highlight will be a competition inviting local students to imagine what education might look like in 140 years’ time. The project is being developed with elected Haringey Youth Leader El Shaddai Sileshi, a former St Paul’s pupil.

The school is part of a federation with St Martin of Porres Catholic Primary School and works closely with St Thomas More Catholic School, the Cardinal Hume Academies Trust and St Paul the Apostle Church.

As it celebrates this milestone, St Paul’s looks ahead with the same ambition and community spirit that have defined its past 140 years.
