Officers also found £4,000 stashed under the driver’s seat
A South London drug dealer has been jailed for three years and four months after police found 32 wraps of cocaine concealed in a water bottle inside the vehicle he was driving.
Mohammed Sesay, 36, of Ewhurst Road, Lewisham, was also sentenced to two months for possessing criminal property, to run concurrently.
On Tuesday, November 11 last year, a lost car was reported in the City of London and officers later located the vehicle after noticing it was being driven in a suspicious manner. The car was stopped and Sesay was the only person inside.
A search of the vehicle found 32 wraps of cocaine hidden within a water bottle in the driver’s side door.
The water bottle had a false bottom which unscrewed. Officers also found £4,000 under the driver’s seat as well as ‘business cards’ with a QR code that once scanned took potential customers to a WhatsApp group.
Sesay was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Monday, March 23.
Detective Constable James Crellin, of City of London Police, said: “The sentencing reflects the seriousness of this offender’s actions and the harm caused by drug dealing within our communities.
“We are committed to relentlessly pursuing those who choose to profit from crime at the expense of others. Let this serve as a clear warning: if you come into the City to deal drugs, we will catch you and bring you to justice.
“I hope this outcome provides reassurance to the public that we will continue to take robust action against those involved in criminality.”
