Sodexo strengthens its food and property management agreement with AstraZeneca in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway for another five years.
Sodexo and AstraZeneca have built a trusting relationship over the years and significant strides have been made to improve the everyday lives of consumers. The collaboration between Sodexo and AstraZeneca began in 2008 in Great Britain with the first food and facilities management agreement.
In 2012, the agreement was extended to new offices and service units in Great Britain as well as in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. Starting October 1, 2023, Sodexo is proud to announce the development of this partnership under the Vested® Agreement* for another five years.
With this highly collaborative Vested® agreement, Sodexo continues to provide services worldwide, including food services, as well as workplace services, cleaning in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and quality controlled laboratory areas, technical services, yard and maintenance services, and waste treatment.
To support AstraZeneca’s operations and teams, increase efficiency and drive new innovation, Sodexo is implementing key initiatives aligned with its 2025 goal of providing an excellent customer and consumer experience, including:
• global food brands suitable for both production and office environments, such as Kitchen Works and Modern Recipe, which offer delicious food in stylish and inviting spaces that promote a sense of belonging and develop collaboration
• proven solutions to reduce Astra Zeneca’s environmental impact:
o WasteWatch initiative to monitor, analyze and limit food waste with the goal of reducing food waste by 50 percent by 2025;
o “Reusable food box” followed by a personalized QR code to avoid single-use packaging waste;
o Carbon labels on menus to encourage consumers towards sustainable choices
• Technical and data solutions that support a consumer-centric approach with the evolution of the current “Everyday” consumer application. They allow consumers to order meals in advance and benefit from the digitized grab-and-go food offer.
The partnership will also benefit from the digitization of other critical areas such as health and safety, financial performance, quality and compliance through Sodexo’s global Wando application. This application generates data and insights to ensure consistency and transparency, enabling data-driven solutions and serving as a central reporting platform to drive KPIs.
