Shoppers have flocked to buy one £28 on sale teeth whitener. The The HiSmile Fast Whitening Bundle is £28 from Boots, down from £35.
The whitener is said to reduce yellow spots on the tooth surface. But of course, if you think £28 is a bit steep, Superdrug sell a similar product for a fraction of the price.
The ProCare Purple Toothpaste from Superdrug comes in a 75ml bottle, has a 4.5 out of 5 star review and retails for just £4.99. Boots whitener – which has 4.7 out of 5 stars – has gone down very well in the reviews section.
One shopper wrote: “The purple stuff found all over TikTok! I had to try it. I have to say it surprised me that it is so good. No wonder I see it everywhere.”
And a second hailed it as: “This is like a level up for your teeth. It’s not a great whitening product as some claim, but it removes yellow tones and makes them appear whiter and brighter as Hismile claims.”
A third gave four simple steps to success. They wrote: “Step one, brush your teeth with regular toothpaste, step two, use this hismile stuff for about 30 seconds, step three spit out excess purple in your mouth (make sure you wash out the sink), step four LE.”
But the product was not for everyone. One unhappy customer wrote: “It turned my entire mouth and lips purple so my teeth looked whiter but only until the purple wore off my entire mouth and lips after a few hours. Not what I wanted. I would not recommend this product at all.”
“Didn’t make a difference so I wouldn’t recommend it. May have worked for some but both me and my husband (since I talked him into trying it) agree it’s not as advertised.”
Elsewhere, Amazon sells a purple toothpaste – as whitens teeth and removes stains – for just £9.99. It has too 4.7 out of 5 starsso you can be sure that it is very popular.
