Russell & Bromley gift cards and loyalty points no longer usable

Russell & Bromley, which has operated on the UK high street for more than 140 years, fell into administration in January.

Administrators were appointed on January 21, while Next purchased the brand name, domain names, and intellectual property of the shoe retailer.



Next acquired the brand name, domain names, and intellectual property of Russell & Bromley.

It also acquired three of Russell & Bromley’s 36 UK stores:

  • Mayfair (London)
  • Chelsea (London)
  • Bluewater (Kent)

Full list of Russell & Bromley stores at risk of closing

The remaining 33 Russell & Bromley stores in the UK and Ireland are under the control of the administrators and at risk of closing. These stores are:

  • Bath
  • Belfast
  • Birmingham
  • Brent Cross
  • Brighton
  • Brompton (Greater London)
  • Cambridge
  • Canary Wharf (Greater London)
  • Cheltenham
  • Chester
  • Covent Garden (Greater London)
  • Edinburgh
  • Exeter
  • Glasgow
  • Guildford
  • Hampstead (Greater London)
  • Harrogate
  • Jermyn Street (Greater London)
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Oxford
  • Paddington (Greater London)
  • Regent Street (Greater London)
  • Richmond (Greater London)
  • Stratford (Greater London)
  • Westfield White City (Greater London)
  • Winchester
  • Dublin (Grafton Street)
  • Kildare

Outlet Stores

  • Ashford
  • Cheshire Oaks (Cheshire)
  • Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth)

A further nine Russell & Bromley concession stores are also at risk of closing:

  • Fenwick (Canterbury)
  • Fenwick (Newcastle)
  • Fenwick (Kingston)
  • Fenwick (Colchester)
  • Fenwick (Bracknell)
  • Fenwick (Tunbridge Wells)
  • Fenwick (York)
  • Arnotts (Dublin)
  • Brown Thomas (Cork)


Next said: “While the previous operator has ceased trading, the Russell & Bromley brand will be operated by Next in the near future.”

Shoppers no longer able to use Russell & Bromley gift cards or loyalty points

While several Russell & Bromley stores remain open, Next has confirmed shoppers will no longer be able to use gift cards and loyalty points.

The Next website reads: “These can no longer be used and we will not be able to honour these.

“For any queries about these please contact the Administrators.”
